Brief

QuotedData is a financial research outfit publishing frequent reports. The team was small and, beyond a logo, had little brand infrastructure for documents. They needed a Word research report template (three variants for recurring report types) that linked to a master Excel workbook, so charts and key numbers updated automatically on open. At the same time, a simple brand palette and typographic system had to make reports readable, authoritative and consistent for a finance audience.

Approach

We defined a Word theme with type, colours and spacing locked by styles, then engineered headings, tables, captions and figure callouts for long-form research. Excel charts and key metrics were connected using reliable link methods, configured to update on open and tested for stability. To speed authorship, we added Quick Parts for disclaimers, methodology panels, analyst bios, risk boxes and standard cover patterns. We also created three template variants (e.g., sector notes, company updates, periodic round-ups) so analysts start from the right structure each time.

Outcome

Analysts now publish on schedule with less formatting work. Numbers and visuals refresh from Excel, while style-driven formatting keeps the look consistent. The new palette and typographic rhythm make dense content easier to read, and the three templates give the team a repeatable, brand-accurate way to deliver research at pace.
