Let’s make a brand template.

Brief

Referred by designer Craig Ward, we were engaged by Oncimmune during a rebrand to deliver an editable PowerPoint template that faithfully expressed the new identity. Early discussions explored Excel formatting; however, once the brand guidelines were final, priority shifted to PowerPoint template design for biotech so the marketing team could create clear, on-brand decks at speed. The requirement was to translate creative direction into a sturdy, everyday tool for non-designers—one that preserves typography, spacing and image behaviour while remaining easy to edit. Crucially, the template needed to cover common communication types: company overviews, research updates, product stories, data highlights and quote panels. The outcome had to be practical: a disciplined slide master, reusable layouts and a few starter slides that help authors begin quickly without compromising the brand. In short, the brief centred on transforming fresh guidelines into a reliable template that reads consistently across screens, exports cleanly to PDF and supports the team’s day-to-day storytelling.

Approach

We began by mapping typical deck scenarios with the marketing lead—openers, section dividers, image-led narratives, text-heavy explainers and simple data pages. Next, we rebuilt the brand system natively in PowerPoint: theme colours, font themes and a grid that governs margins, columns and safe areas. A disciplined slide master with custom layouts encoded spacing rules so titles, body copy, captions and images fall into place without nudging. To balance flexibility and control, we provided layout families (copy-first, image-first, two-column and mosaic options) and engineered image placeholders to preserve aspect ratios and crop behaviour. We added a small set of ready slides—agenda, timeline, quote, call-to-action and data highlight—so editors can start from proven patterns. Guidance notes (visible in edit view) explain image swapping, text lengths and do/don’t tips that maintain the typographic rhythm. Finally, we validated on typical enterprise builds, checking projector output and PDF export to ensure colour, contrast and line rendering remained faithful to the guidelines.

Outcome

The team now assembles presentations more quickly and with fewer formatting fixes. Because spacing and type are governed by the slide master, slides stay consistent across authors, while the ready layouts reduce decision-making under time pressure. Imagery and copy remain in balance thanks to structured placeholders and caption styles, and exports to PDF are clean and predictable. Overall, the template delivers a dependable expression of the new brand in Microsoft PowerPoint—fast to use, easy to maintain and ready for everyday marketing and stakeholder communication.
