Brief
Praxis Digital, a small IT consulting firm, needed to prepare a client pitch over a weekend – without usable brand assets, templates or structured content. Most material arrived as scanned, hand-drawn notes, and the website offered limited direction. Therefore, the requirement was two fold: establish a lightweight visual identity and deliver an editable PowerPoint pitch deck template that non-designers could update confidently. Using cues from the existing logo and the few stable elements on the site, we set a simple, modern system: colour palette, typographic pairings, spacing and a clean grid that reads well on screen and in PDF. Crucially, the deck had to be practical for an IT consulting audience – clear hierarchy, generous white space, structured placeholders for data and narrative, and image/caption styles that do not collapse when edited. Because the team was distributed and time-pressed, PowerPoint was chosen over Word for canvas-based flexibility and reliable export. In short, the brief centred on presentation template design that looks branded, edits quickly and holds together under pressure.
Approach
We began by mapping the story: problem, approach, capability, case snippets and next steps. Next, we rebuilt the brand starter natively in PowerPoint—theme colours, font themes and a grid that governs margins, columns and safe areas—so spacing remains consistent across slides. A disciplined slide master with custom layouts encoded the core patterns: title, section opener, agenda, one-pager summaries, side-by-side comparisons, image-led narratives, data highlights and quote panels. In addition, we created ready slides for timelines, process diagrams and simple KPI call-outs, using editable shapes rather than flattened artwork. Meanwhile, we wrote concise helper notes (edit-view only) to guide non-designers on cropping images, balancing copy and using the grid. Because content arrived as rough scans, we set up drop-zones and caption styles that stabilise when text expands, and we tested the deck on typical enterprise builds to validate on-screen rendering and PDF export.
Outcome
The team now assembles pitch presentations faster and with fewer rework cycles. Because the slide master governs spacing and type, slides stay consistent across authors, and the ready layouts reduce decision-making. Moreover, the lightweight brand system gives Praxis-Digital a clear voice without heavy guidelines. Consequently, editors focus on content rather than formatting, and last-minute changes hold their shape. Exports are clean and predictable, which helps under tight deadlines. Overall, the template delivers a practical balance of speed, clarity and brand consistency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
